Each year, the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on the 21st of September. The 2022 theme for the International Day of Peace is “End racism. Build peace.” We invite you to join the efforts of the United Nations as we work towards a world free of racism and racial discrimination. A world where compassion and empathy overcome suspicion and hatred. A world that we can truly be proud of. Students at isoc will be engaged in activities throughout the day that demonstrate the actions they can take to combat racism and thus foster peace.

This day gives students and teachers the opportunity to “Dress for Peace,” wearing white and symbols of peace. The class representatives will collect the 15 RON contribution for the “Dress for Peace” and donate it to D.A.S Pantelimon (Directia de asistenta sociala Pantelimon). The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly. Two decades later, in 2001, the General Assembly unanimously voted to designate the Day as a period of non-violence and cease-fire. We look forward to celebrating the International Day of Peace together.

Yours, isoc Team
